1. Who This Policy Applies To

This Privacy Policy applies to users and participants in the EZSchoolRide pilot, including:

• Student riders age 14 and older
• Licensed student drivers
• Parent and guardian participants
• Parents or guardians of minor users

EZSchoolRide is not intended for, and does not permit participation by, children under 13.

If we learn that personal information has been collected from a child under 13, we will take appropriate steps to delete that information in accordance with applicable law.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you participate in the pilot, we may collect:

• Name and age or age range
• School affiliation
• Email address and phone number
• Parent or guardian name and contact information for minor users
• Information needed to coordinate a carpool, such as pickup and drop-off locations, ride date and time, and participating users
• Ride preferences or other information voluntarily provided by participants
• Basic device, app activity, and technical information needed to operate and improve the platform

EZSchoolRide does not collect biometric identifiers or biometric information as part of the current pilot.

3. How We Use Information

We use information collected through the pilot to:

• Facilitate carpool coordination among approved participants
• Manage user accounts and pilot participation
• Communicate ride-related information
• Provide support and respond to questions or reported concerns
• Maintain the security and operation of the platform
• Understand how participants use the pilot
• Improve the product and user experience
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

We use participant information only for purposes related to operating, supporting, evaluating, and improving EZSchoolRide.

4. Ride and Location Information

Users may provide pickup locations, drop-off locations, and other ride-related information as part of coordinating a carpool.

Ride location information is used only as reasonably necessary to coordinate the applicable carpool and operate the pilot.

EZSchoolRide does not collect continuous background location information as part of the current pilot.

If location-based features are introduced or tested in the future, users will be informed about how location information is collected and used, and this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate.

5. Parents and Minor Users

Because many participants are under 18, EZSchoolRide may require parent or guardian involvement or permission before a minor participates in the pilot or uses certain features.

Parents and guardians may contact EZSchoolRide to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information associated with their child.

6. How Information Is Shared

Information may be shared only when reasonably necessary:

• With other approved pilot participants to coordinate a specific carpool
• With service providers that help host, maintain, secure, or operate the platform
• When required by law, legal process, or a valid government request
• When reasonably necessary to address a safety or security concern

Service providers may use information only for the services they provide to EZSchoolRide and are expected to protect the information appropriately.

7. Data Security

EZSchoolRide uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure.

These measures may include secure data transmission, account access controls, and limiting access to information to those who need it to operate the pilot.

No online service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

EZSchoolRide retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:

• Operate and evaluate the pilot
• Provide requested services
• Address safety, security, or support matters
• Meet applicable legal obligations

When information is no longer reasonably needed, we may delete or de-identify it.

Users, and parents or guardians of minor users where applicable, may contact us to:

• Request access to personal information
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of an account or associated information
• Ask questions about how information is used

Some information may need to be retained where required by law or reasonably necessary to resolve a safety or security matter.

EZSchoolRide may update this Privacy Policy as the pilot and platform evolve.
